新GRE写作定律之一：清晰
文章的清晰体现在读者能够很容易理解作者讲述的内容。为保证所写文章清晰明了，写作时有两点一定要加以注意：
一是越确切具体越好。在这一方面，作者首先应明确了解自己所要传达的信息、读者的范围及特点，然后再选择相关信息，采用某种文体格式传递给读者。也就是说，写作必须要以特定读者为对象，以让读者能够明确接受作者所传递的信息为宗旨。尽量以客观陈述为主，少主观臆测推断;尽量明确无误表达，少模棱两可评论，这是使文章清晰确切的写作准则。
二是组织结构富有逻辑性。文章结构富逻辑性会让读者很轻松地读懂作者要表达的思想内容。文章的这种逻辑性可以通过采用从一般到具体、从“全景”到细节、从问题的定义到分析再到提出解决方案等多种方式来体现。

要使文章语义表达准确，首先要尽量不要在学术文章中出现“大概、也许”之类模棱两可的词语，避免出现容易让人困惑和误解的词语和表达法;其次，要尽量避免使用那些有多种含义的词语和表达法。例如：Singapore is a fine country这句话中的fine一词有多种含义，如“好的、细小的、罚款”等。日常生活中这样使用没有问题，但在写作时一定要避免使用这种容易产生歧义的多义词。

直截了当、切中要点是保证文章简洁的最好写作形式。与中文写作相比，英文写作非常强调直奔主题、简单明快的写作风格。例如，在写作一个段落时，常常将概括段落主要内容的主题句(topic sentence)作为段落的首句，以便让读者迅速明确本段要讲述的内容。另外，写作时尽量将每个句子写得简短一些，少用或不用冗长的复合句。切记：短小精练的句子表达的意思才强而有力。

三、文章结构
Ts是文章的第一句，因此这一篇短文章是结论解释型。文章开始说出了地幔是heterogeneous，然后又指出了他的spatial arrangement remains unresolved，然后提出了两种理论，一是layyered-mantle thesis，另外一个是irregularly heterogeneous.然后分别对这两种理论进行describe.最后指出，We believe，perhaps unimaginatively， that this debate can be resolved through further study， and that the underexplored midocean ridge system is the key.
GRE写作提纲的注意事项
1、什么时候开始练习在模考时加入提纲?
比较适合的是在最后10天到一周的样子。因为这首先需要在一定高强度的写作练习之后，再者，需要对题目已经有了一定的把握。很多的提纲在之前都大体列过。然后在限时中加入提纲的写作。
2、用多长时间列GRE作文提纲?
我的经验是ISSUE总体比ARGU短。ISSUE大体要2-3分钟，ARGU怎么都要3分钟。可能要5分钟。
3、提纲里都要包含些什么?
对ISSUE来说，读第一遍题目时把关键词提出来，接着将核心话题列出来，根据这个话题开始一条一条列出你要写的东西;ARGU来说，因为题目比较长，所以读题的时间就要比前者长。
第一遍建议先把每一个意群讲的是什么简要提出来，排上序号;第二从这些小短句分析其文章结构和主要错误;第三把自己对错误的阐述顺序列出来。这样差不多是可以的了。
4、列GRE作文提纲的一些技巧
需要在练习中找到自己的记录法，哪种缩写是自己看得明了的。要记出来的摘要最后自己还要辨析几分钟。建议在平时列提纲的时候就有意识的做一下限定时间练习，看2-3分钟能不能把大体的框架列出来。
其他：我觉得如果正确掌握提纲的写法和时间分配问题，将是对于AW的核心实力的一种提高。对比于其他人，无论如何都是要略胜一筹的。

Your task is to discuss the logical soundness of the author's case according to the specific instructions by critically examining the line of reasoning and the use of evidence.
