With the arrival of modern digitalcameras and smart phones, photograph taking and preserving hasbecome very easier and peopletake more photos nowadays thanthey did 10 years back. In ourhome we have many photo albums which are full of dif ferent photos of our family members including me.Among all the photographs, my favourite photograph is the one that depicts my father in his early childhood. This photograph was taken at least 60 years ago when my father was around 5-6 years old.

As I heard from my grand mother, this picture was taken by a professional photographer from a distant town on occasion of my fa ther's birthday. In the photograph,my father was wearing a shirt, a short pants and a pair of shoes. He was sitting in a chair and the back ground was the garden where the picture was taken. This is a back-and-white photograph and two years ago, the photo was retouched by a professional photo editor.This is a very important photograph to me as it depicts a time and moment that I would have never knew else how.This is the only photograph of my father from his childhood and it gives me idea how he was at that moment. I revere this photograph and somehow it reminds me the similarities that I have with my father.

Water Lilies is a series about 250 oil paintings by FrenchImpressionist Claude Monet. Thepainting depict Monet's flowergarden at Giverny and was themain focus of Monet's artisticproduction during the last thirty years of his life. It is said that Claude Monet's water-lily paintings are amongst the most recognized and celebrated works of 20th century. They were hugely influential to many of the following generations of artists.The paintings are on display at museums all over the world. I waslucky enough to see one of the water-lily paintings displayed at the Guangzhou Art Gallery. At the first sight of the painting, I was totally amazed by its artful express. Some may consider impressionist paintings incomplete when comparing them with classical paintings, because the impressionist paintings include relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, and they appear to be blur or hazy. But impressionist paintings do not focus on the accurate depiction of a certain subject, but try to capture the exact moment and lighting of the scene. The water-lily painting deeply impressed me and that's why I choose to talk about this work of art.
