nowadays, people prefer to travel by air.this is because air travel has some advantages.first of all, airplane, the miracle created by man, is the fastest means of transport.it takes the least time for one to travel by air from one place to another.besides, traveling by air is convenient and fortable.friendly air hostees are affectionate and considerate.they look after paengers all the way to their destinations.in addition, on long distance flights there are films and music for people to entertain themselves.
as a popular saying goes, "everything has two sides." the same is true of air travel.it has some disadvantages, too.for one thing, air travel is expensive.the average chinese are not rich enough to afford expensive air fares.so they prefer to take trains, which save a lot of money.for another, although paengers are aured of their safety, they are still worried about it during the journey because flying always involves more or le risk.as for i am concerned, the advantages mentioned above exceed the disadvantages.if i were given choice between traveling by air and by train, i would certainly prefer the former, especially the long distance journey, because time is the most important thing i have to take into consideration whatever i do.

As an ancient Chinese saying goes， “He who travels far knows much”. In my opinion， modern life is impossible without traveling. For me， there are two kinds of traveling. On the one hand， traveling on foot brings me many benefits. It can make me enjoy my holidays and many different life styles; it can broaden my vision， let me learn more about other countries or cultures. On the other hand， reading is another kind of traveling. It can bring me to the places where I can not go for the time being. Books are the best friends of human being. Books make my eyes and imagination enjoy the beautiful scenes through writhers’ wonderful description.
I have been to Beijing， Nanjing， Shandong， Hangzhou， Suzhou and other places. At the same time，I have been reading many books of different world-famous writers. The places I’ve been to and the places I only travel on books both impress a lot on me.

Nowadays， more and more people like to travel in their holidays. The other day I read a report about the ways people spend their holidays. It is reported that in recent yiars several new holiday habits have been developed. Among them， the most interesting one is the growth of the so-called holiday camps.
From the report we can see that in 20__，40 percent of people stayed at home for holidays. But now the proportion has reduced to 9 percent. More people go out for fun. The proportion of camping and traveling abroad was increasing steadily， from 10 percent in 20__ to 38 percent in 20__， and 12 percent in 20__ to 26 percent in 20__ respectively. People enjoy the fresh air， clean Water and green hills when they go camping in the suburbs. In 20__，38 percent people enjoyed going to the seaside while in 20__ only 27 percent prefer to go there. What great changes!
Why did those changes appear? I think there are several reasons. First， it s because people can afford traveling. Second， people prefer to pursue a high-quality and colorful life. Third， their attitudes to relaxation have changed. Less people want to save much money by leading a simple life. In short， peoples living standard today has been rising greatly.

I went to three cities to play during last summer holidays. They are Beijing， Dalian and HuHehot.
I went to Beijing more than eight times. Beijing is the capital of China. It’s a big city. I am very familiar with Beijing. It takes an hour and forty minutes from Nantong to Beijing by plane. There are many tall buildings in Beijing. It’s a modern city. My family visited the Great Wall， the Summer Palace， the Palace Museum， the Beihai Park， the Space Museum， etc. I went to the countryside of Beijing to go boating and fishing. It was very interesting. I went shopping in WangFuJing. I bought lots of souvenirs and other things. I like eating Beijing snacks. They are delicious. Don’t mithe Beijing Duck. It is really nice.
Dalian is a beautiful city. Dalian is close to Beijing. I spent 5o minutes on the plane. Dalian is near the sea. I smelled the salty taste in the air. The roads are clean. There are lots of trees and flowers near the roads. There are many esplanades and Japanese buildings. There are some fountains in one of the esplanades. Some people flew kites and walked on the esplanades. We went to see the beach and the sea. The sea is blue. There were many swimmers in the sea. I lay on the beach to see the sky.Dalian is a very nice place to live.
Huhehot is in Inner Mongol. There are lots of large grasslands. The grasslands are endless. The sky is bright blue. There were a lot of horses and sheep. They were running or eating grass. I rode a horse on the graland. I picked some colourful flowers. We drank the tea with milk. There is a small desert， it was very hot when I walked on it. The sand could sing.
These trips helped me open my eyes. I enjoyed my day.

i was born and grow up in the south where is not too cold in winter and i had never had a chance to see, snow. happily, i made a trip harbin this winter and i finally enjoy the snowing.
one of my aunt lives in harbin and she invited me to visit her. i stayed at her home for almost ten days. it snowed two times when i was there. one day, the weather report said that there would be a snow in the next day. since then, i expected it so much. next morning, when i woke up and looked out the window, i saw the outside become white. it was so beautiful. i went out immediately after i had my breakfast. the snow was on everywhere, the street, the car, the tree and the roof. i was excited to walk on the snow, leaving my footprints. besides, i also went to see the ice engraving. they were all made by ice and were made into various figures, such as castles, cartoons, animals and so on. when the colorful lights turned on at night, it was another amazing image. it seemed in the fairy tale.
how wonderful the visit to harbin was!
我在南方出生、成长，这里的冬天并不算太冷，所以我一直没有见过下雪。值得高兴的是，这个冬天我去哈尔滨旅游，终于欣赏到了雪景。
我的一个阿姨住在哈尔滨，她邀请我去玩，我在她的家里住了差不多十天，期间下了两次雪。有一天，天气预报说第二天会下雪，我十分期待。第二天早晨，当我醒来看向窗外时，外面全部变成了白色，非常漂亮。早餐过后，我迫不及待地出门去。外面到处都是雪，街道上、汽车上、树上和屋顶上都铺满了雪。我兴奋得踩在雪地上，留下一串串脚印。另外，我还去看了冰雕，它们全都是用冰做成的，被刻成了各种形象，有城堡、卡通人物和动物等等。晚上，当亮起彩灯时，又是另外一番美景，像在童话故事里一样。
这真是一次精彩的哈尔滨之行!
